North Dakota St. rallies to win the Dakota Marker Game 13-9

FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – The Dakota Marker has returned to Fargo thanks to a game that lived up to the hype. A drive late in the fourth quarter and a game-ending interception led North Dakota St. to its first win against South Dakota St. since 2019, a 13-9 win.

It was 9-7 Jackrabbits, the same score as at halftime, when the Bison got the ball back on its own eight-yard line with 7:14 to play in the fourth quarter.

That’s when Cam Miller engineered one of the biggest drives of his college career, a 10-play, 92-yard drive to take the lead on a Miller 20-yard passing touchdown against RaJa Nelson.

Miller was a perfect seven-for-seven on that final drive and put in a stellar performance in this rivalry game in front of fifteen NFL scouts.

But the Jackrabbits still had time to respond, and South Dakota St. crossed midfield in need of a touchdown.

With a minute left, Logan Kopp, another senior, made the Dakota Marker clinching play, edging Mark Gronowski with 1:00 to go, effectively clinching NDSU’s biggest win of the season.

It’s the first time North Dakota St. has won the Dakota Marker Game since 2019, the first win for nearly every current player on the Bison roster in this matchup.

Now the Bison are trying to avoid a disappointment as Valley Play continues. North Dakota St. hits the road again to meet Murray St. next Saturday at 1 p.m
