Notre Dame defender Boubacar Traore took advantage of a stunning decision by Purdue Boilermakers quarterback Hudson Card.

Card attempted a desperate somersault, but Traore easily intercepted the ball and returned it 34 yards for a touchdown with 1:32 left in the first half.

Mitch Jeter scored the extra point as the Fighting Irish were grinding out the first half against their in-state rivals. Notre Dame’s offense, particularly its ground game, has been effective, and its defense has stifled the Boilermakers all day.

Card has struggled to cope with the pressure from the Irish and even potentially serious injuries to three key players have failed to dampen the Irish mood so far.
