NV Energy is advising customers from Wednesday 20 November at approximately 6am of a potential proactive power outage affecting certain areas.

This precaution may last through Thursday, November 21, depending on the duration of weather conditions and the time it takes for crews to safely inspect and repair power lines.

Proactively shutting down power lines in these designated areas helps reduce the risk of sparks igniting dry vegetation that could come into contact with power lines.

The Public Safety Outage Management (PSOM) Watch for Tuesday, November 19 is for the following specific areas:

• South Carson City, Clear Creek area

• South Carson City, Jacks Valley area
