NWS issues severe thunderstorm warning for northeastern Kansas

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The National Weather Service (NWS) is warning people in parts of northeastern Kansas to be on the lookout for severe storms Wednesday.

The NWS issued a severe thunderstorm warning for several areas in northeastern Kansas on October 30 around 1:15 p.m. These include the following:

The NWS said the alert will remain active until 1:45 p.m. on Oct. 30. This warning includes wind gusts of 75 miles per hour and hail the size of pennies. People should expect damage to roofs, siding and trees.
