DETROIT – An Oakland County man has been arrested after one person was killed and another injured in a shooting at Eastern Market.

The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Shed 6 in Eastern Market.

According to police, two men raised their hands to fight when one of them pulled out a gun and started shooting.

Two people were hit by gunfire. A Detroit man in his 40s was killed and a Detroit man in his 20s was wounded, Detroit Police Chief James White said.

Officials said the suspected shooter is an Oak Park man. He was arrested.

The police confiscated two weapons.

Officers in the area were directing traffic when they heard the shots and went to the scene, White said.

The investigation is still ongoing.
