Edenbridge Bonfire Society have unveiled their latest Guy Fawkes likeness, and it’s a pretty iconic take on the Oasis Ticketmaster scandal.

On November 5, Oasis brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher’s 38ft Guy Fawkes will be burned in hilarious effigy on top of a bonfire.

The enormous Guy Fawkes shows the brothers as puppets being maneuvered by a man in a suit, with rising ticket prices printed all over the suit.

The amounts of money that fell from the bag had a clear message that paid tribute to the Ticketmaster pricing scandal.

The scandal made the brothers a lot of money, but caused many fans to pay exorbitant prices due to the introduction of dynamic pricing, which caused prices to skyrocket due to huge demand.

It has since been reported that thousands of fans could now lose their tickets as overpriced tickets are being recalled and sold at a lower price.

The Kent society’s Guy Fawkes have become famous in recent years for their bizarre celebrity likenesses, and this latest edition joins a long line of spectacular bonfire figures.

The Kent group typically mocks politicians such as Donald Trump, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Sadiq Khan, all of whom have been made into Guy Fawkes over the years.

Typically, the group creates a Guy Fawkes that pays tribute to a viral moment from the year, usually a negative news story that people would like to see burned on the bonfire.

The association has been making Guy Fawkes for decades, with images of boys made in the likeness of James Hewitt in 1994, Anne Robinson in 2001 and Edwina Currie in 2002 on their website.

In 2020 and 2021 the effigies were suspended due to lockdown restrictions, which may be why Guy Fawkes has been so spectacular in recent years.

The Guy will be burned to death this weekend in a fantastic display that starts with a procession through the city and ends in a fiery blaze.
