COLUMBUS, OH – The Ohio State women’s volleyball team (8-8, 1-5 B1G) will host back-to-back matches this weekend at the Covelli Center. On Friday, No. 3 Penn State (16-1, 6-0 B1G) comes to town for an 8:00 PM ET matchup that will air live on BTN. On Saturday, No. 2 Nebraska (16-1, 6-0 B1G) and the Buckeyes will face off in a 3:30 PM ET matchup that will air live on NBC.

Parking remains free for all home games in the Buckeye lots across the street. On Friday, the Buckeyes will celebrate the induction of Marisa Main into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame. The first 3,000 fans will receive a free glow wand and Ohio State students will receive 20% off concessions with their BuckID between 7 and 8 p.m. Saturday, the first 4,000 fans will receive a Covelli Center T-shirt giveaway and Rooster’s cash. There will be a meet and greet with the Ohio State team after the game.

  • Ohio State broke Ohio’s program attendance record and collegiate regular-season record on Sunday with 8,844 fans in the first-ever game at the Schottenstein Center. The Buckeyes fell in four sets (24-26, 23-25, 25-20, 21-25) to Michigan.
  • On Sunday, Emily Londot became only the second player in program history to reach 2,000 kills, 2,000 points and 1,000 digs in her career, joining Stacey Gordon. She recorded her 2,000th career kill on set point in the third set and finished with a match-high 24 kills and a season-high 16 digs.
  • Olivia Hasbrook recorded a team-high 20 digs, her third 20+ dig game of the season. She added a career-high four aces and a career-high eight assists.
  • No. 3 Penn State enters the game with a 16-1 record and is a perfect 6-0 in conference play. The Nittany Lions’ only loss this season came against No. 1 Pitt.
  • Penn State has defeated five ranked opponents in Tennessee, Louisville, Kentucky, Purdue and Oregon. The Nittany Lions’ other Big Ten wins include Michigan State (twice), Maryland and Indiana.
  • Jess Mruzik leads the PSU attack and is second in the B1G with 4.55 kills/set. Izzy Starck is second in the conference in assists/set (11.02). Gillian Grimes leads the defense in the back row with 3.84 digs/set.
  • Ohio State trails Penn State in the all-time series 53-21 and is 13-22 against the Nittany Lions in Columbus.
  • Last season, the Buckeyes fell in five sets (23-25, 25-23, 25-20, 21-25, 7-15) to State College on Oct. 7 and in three sets (25-27, 12-25, 23- 25) in Columbus on November 24.
  • The Buckeyes recently defeated the Nittany Lions in a five-set thriller (19-25, 27-25, 26-28, 25-14, 17-15) in State College on October 29, 2022.
  • No. 2 Nebraska enters the weekend with an overall record of 16-1 and is a perfect 6-0 in conference play. The Huskers play Michigan State on Friday at 6 p.m.
  • Nebraska’s only loss of the season came at SMU. The Huskers are a perfect 7-0 against ranked teams, beating Kentucky, Creighton, Arizona State, Stanford, Louisville, USC and Purdue. Nebraska has also defeated B1G opponents in UCLA, Illinois, Iowa and Rutgers.
  • Bergen Reilly leads the Big Ten with 11.10 assists/set. The Husker offense features six different players averaging over 2.0 kills/set each, led by Harper Murray’s 3.21/set. Lexi Rodriguez leads the back row with 3.66 digs/set.
  • Ohio State is 18-10 in the all-time series against Nebraska and is 3-8 against the Huskers in Columbus.
  • Last season, OSU and Nebraska played just once, with the Buckeyes losing in three sets (14-25, 16-25, 21-25) on September 22 in Lincoln.
  • The Buckeyes’ most recent win in the series came on November 13, 2022 in four sets (31-29, 25-21, 26-28, 25-16).
