Quarterback Mark Gronowski also won the Walter Payton Award as the FCS’s top player this past season with 3,058 passing yards and 37 total touchdowns, and there are plenty of returners on a defense that allowed just 9.3 points per game, the best in the FCS. But I’m still going with OSU, which has too much talent to pull off a Week 1 upset. Ollie Gordon II is the nation’s best running back, and the All-Big 12 preseason team duo of Nick Martin and Collin Oliver will lead the defense. Give me the Cowboys in a close one.”

This isn’t going to happen, and there is a real chance that SDST comes to Stillwater and gives the Cowboys the fright of their lives. But in front of a home crowd on a scorching August afternoon, I’m rooting for Mike Gundy and the Pokes in a tight game.”
