New York magazine political reporter Olivia Nuzzi’s partner, Politico’s Ryan Lizza, confirmed that the couple had called off their engagement in response to the ongoing scandal surrounding her alleged relationship with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Lizza, 50, responded to the rumors about Nuzzi’s alleged tryst with the former presidential candidate in a statement in Politico PM on Friday afternoon.

“Because of my connection to this story through my ex-fiancée, my editors and I have agreed that I will not be involved in any reporting about Kennedy in Playbook or elsewhere at POLITICO,” the commentary said.

According to their social media, Lizza and Nuzzi got engaged in Italy in September 2022.

It’s unclear how long the couple have been dating, but they were pictured together on Nuzzi’s Instagram as far back as January 2018 — just a month after Lizza was fired from the New Yorker amid allegations of sexual misconduct.

Nuzzi, 31, was suspended after she admitted to “having a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign while covering the campaign, a violation of the magazine’s standards around conflicts of interest and disclosure,” New York magazine announced Thursday.

The subject in question was later identified as RFK Jr. Sources told the Post that the pair had been sexting around New Year’s Eve.

Nuzzi did not mention the Kennedy scion’s name in her own statement, in which she admitted that “the nature of some communications between me and a former reporter earlier this year became personal.”

She claimed the relationship was never physical.

A spokesman for Kennedy denied the rumors, saying the married father of six had met Nuzzi only “once in his life,” when she profiled him for New York magazine last fall.
