Olivia Rodrigo reunited with friend and former tour opener Chappell Roan last night at the premiere of Olivia Rodrigo: Guts World Tourthe documentary about the worldwide tour for her 2023 album.

As the duo hit the purple carpet, they each showed off their different approaches to sheer dresses. For her part, Rodrigo opted for a form-fitting black vintage dress from Dior’s Fall/Winter 1998 collection. The form-fitting dress, designed by John Galliano, showed off a plunging neckline and an intricate cross-stitch pattern accented by roses.

Rodrigo complemented her look with natural glamour, wearing her dark hair in bouncy curls. She let her ensemble do the talking and wore no accessories aside from a pair of dangling diamond earrings.

Meanwhile, Roan turned up the heat in a sheer red dress covered in burgundy floral appliqués. Two thigh-high slits in the skirt took the daring dress to another level, revealing a pair of pointy black leather boots. Elsewhere, the botanical details of her dress extended to a pair of matching sheer opera gloves, which the singer accented with a pair of silver rings.

To complete the look, Roan let her orange curls slide over her shoulders. She also wore her signature colorful glamour, pairing dusty blue eyeshadow with a bright pink blush and burgundy lipstick. More theatrics ensued when the singer spotted a photographer on the carpet and demanded an apology from him for past behavior.

She accused the photographer of being “disrespectful to me at the Grammys” and claimed they “yelled” at her during a Grammy party, as heard in a video circulates on X (formerly Twitter). Finally, Roan was pulled away by a carpet guide, but not without making an impression.
