Less than 24 hours after a record-breaking press conference and the successful Meet the Olympians event, Olympia 2024 kicks off with free judging Friday morning at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Thousands of fans sat in the seats and stood behind the seating area as their favorite competitors from around the world graced the stage and faced the judges for the 2024 Olympia Prejudging event.

Fitness, 212, figure, Women’s Physique, the Ms. Olympia and the Wellness Olympia were all on stage at the World Fitness Expo on October 11. You missed one of the events. Here’s a quick look back at what happened in Sin City.

Olympia 2024 Bias: condition

The posing round for fitness only counts for a third of the total score, but it is still very important. Two-time winner Missy Truscott returned to the podium after suffering a serious knee injury in 2023. She and Tamara Vahn were at the center of the final call, indicating they were in the weeds after the opening round. Next up is the Performance round at Resorts World, which will help determine the champion later tonight.

Olympia 2024 Pre-jury: 212

The crowd already knew that this match would be a 2023 rematch. Defending champion Keone Pearson and two-time winner Shaun Clarida close out the competition and leave on the podium in the opening round. They’re both in the driver’s seat for the win. The only question is who will leave the stage as champion. Clarida had the excellent conditioning and thickness, while Pearson had his signature shape and size. We’ll have to wait until the final to see who leaves the podium as the 2024 world champion.

Olympia 2024 Prejudging: figure

Based on fan reaction, Cydney Gillon appears to be well on her way to her 8th consecutive Figure Olympia title. Her only threat appears to be 2023 Masters Olympia champion Jessica Reyes Padilla. They took center stage at the end of the round and are the favorites going into the final later tonight.

Olympia 2024 Prejudging: ladies’ physique

The same cannot be said for the women’s Physique division. The crowd and judges appear to be divided between three-time defending champion Sarah Villegas and 2022 winner Natalia

Abraham Coelho. If Villegas is successful, she will attempt the record for most wins in the division’s history with four. Meanwhile, Coelho appears to be the second athlete to regain the title after losing. Either way, history is being made at the Resorts World Theater.

Olympia 2024 Pre-jury: Ms. Olympia

We also saw a dramatic finish in the Ms. Olympia. Four-time champion Andrea Shaw sought redemption after losing the 2024 Rising Phoenix to Angela Yeo. Meanwhile, Yeo wanted to become the second champion in this division since the relaunch of Ms. Olympia in 2020. As far as the judges are concerned, this competition is thanks to those two. Shaw had a size advantage and she was in better shape than in the Rising Phoenix. Yeo was determined to hold her own and was also better in Las Vegas. Nothing is resolved here, and we’ll have to see what happens later this evening.

Olympia 2024 Pre-judging: Wellness

Francielle Mattos is the only champion in the history of this division. She wanted to add to her legacy with a fourth consecutive Olympia win. However, Isabelle Nunes and Eduarda Bezerra want to establish that the future of the division is now. If the fans’ support had helped determine the champion, Meadows could have walked away with a trophy this morning. Still, she will have to wait until tonight to see if she is crowned the winner.
