Omaha teen injured in Lincoln Haymarket shooting after concert

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Police are investigating a shooting that happened late Thursday night in Haymarket in Lincoln, following a concert at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The Sexxy Red concert at PBA had just ended when gunfire broke out around 11:15 p.m., wounding a 19-year-old Omaha man. Officers found the victim outside the Hyatt Hotel at Canopy and Q Streets. The victim was taken to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his right arm.

“There is no danger to the public at this time,” Winkler said, adding that authorities are still searching for the suspect or suspects responsible.

Winkler noted that officers were already on scene directing traffic after the concert when they heard multiple shots and located the victim.

Two concertgoers told 10/11 that they were leaving the arena with others when the shooting occurred. They said security escorted them back inside, where they stayed for about 10 minutes before being allowed to leave.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact Lincoln police at 402-441-6000 or Lincoln Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
