One dead and four injured in shooting in East Cleveland early Saturday morning

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – East Cleveland police officers responded early Saturday morning to a shooting that left at least five people shot, according to Chief Ken Lundy.

East Cleveland police confirmed four people were injured and one person was pronounced dead at the scene following a shooting in the area of ​​Euclid Avenue and Taylor Road.

Police were called to the scene around 5 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Lundy told 19 News that four individuals had been taken to the hospital, but had no information on their conditions.

Three people were taken into custody for questioning, Lundy told 19 News.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting the East Cleveland Police Department.

Saturday’s shooting occurred less than 600 feet away from a shooting that occurred on September 2 at a Mobil gas station that sent three people to the hospital, and about 1,000 feet away from a shooting that also occurred on September 2 , in which two people were injured.
