Paterson Pine took the lead in the third end and stayed ahead. She needed a ten to take bronze or a nine to tie with her last shot. She shot an eight.

“Especially in archery, you have to shoot the last arrow. The match isn’t over until the last arrow,” Grinham claimed.

She won and scored two 10s, which decided the match.

“I knew I had to hit good shots going into that last end. I needed 10s. And thankfully that’s exactly what I did.”

“I put pressure on Phoebe, which is heartbreaking, she’s my teammate, but it worked in my favor. And that meant I came away with bronze.”

Grinham won her first individual Paralympic medal. She is soon to be a mother, but she pleaded openly that she would compete in the next Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, USA.

The competition in Paris continues with W1 and compound elimination and medal matches for men on Sunday.
