    Packers will wear all-white uniforms for Sunday’s Houston Texans game

    GREEN BAY – It could be a clear, sunny day at Lambeau Field on Sunday.

    The Packers will wear white and they are asking that fans wear white, which will provide sun-reflecting surfaces around the Lambeau Field bowl.

    This won’t be the first time the Packers have worn white uniforms and white helmets. The Packers first played with white uniforms in 1938 and continued to use them occasionally through the 1940s and 1950s. White jerseys became the standard for road races in the 1960s.

    White helmets were first worn on September 30, 1956, during the home opener against the Detroit Lions. The rest of the uniform consisted of dark green sweaters, green socks and white pants. That uniform was used throughout the 1958 season, which at 1-10-1 was the Packers’ worst season ever and the last before the arrival of Vince Lombardi.

    What are the weather forecasts for Sunday?

    The National Weather Service Green Bay said Sunday will be sunny with a high near 73 degrees.

    The average entry price for Texas games is above face value

    The average entry price of eleven secondary markets was $220 on Monday.

    Secondary marketplace Vivid Seats said the average total ticket price was $333, the second most expensive game in the NFL this week after Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers for $517.

    Vivid Seats estimated that 25% of fans at Sunday’s game would be cheering for the Texans.

    What time do the parking lots and stadium open?

    Stadium parking lots open at 8 a.m. Entrance to the stadium bowl is available at 10am

    Admission to the Lambeau Field Atrium and Packers Pro Shop will be available through the American Family Insurance gate beginning at 8 a.m. Other gates open at 10am. The Packers Pro Shop and Lambeau Field Atrium are open to ticketed fans only. There is no exit/re-entry for matches at 12:00 noon and 3:25 pm.

    Parking available in the areas surrounding Lambeau Field

    Lambeau Field’s parking lots are full of season ticket holders and people working the game. Parking is available on the streets, in yards and commercial lots surrounding Lambeau Field. Courtyard and lot parking ranges from $60 near the stadium to $20 several blocks away.

    Free street parking is available for those who get there early or are willing to walk. Most of the on-street parking is available on the Green Bay side of the stadium, i.e. north of Lombardi Avenue, although some is available south and southwest of the stadium in Ashwaubenon, where restrictions apply to streets closer at Lambeau.

    Titletown hosts Gameday Live activities and music

    Four hours before each Packers home game, the Titletown District hosts Gameday Live festivities including music, a Q&A and meet and greets with Packers alumni, giant tailgate games, murals, a postcard station and food and drinks. Former Packers Andrew Quarless and Jared Abbrederis will participate in a question-and-answer session at 10 a.m. and then greet fans until 11 a.m.

    The Smoke Road band will play the Titletown stage from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

    The Titletown parking lot off Lombardi Avenue is open for paid parking ($50), but tailgating is not permitted in the parking lot. Carry-on coolers, glass bottles and portable grills are also not allowed in the park. Like Lambeau, Titletown is cashless.

    Which Packers alumni will be in town?

    Pro Football Hall of Famers Jerry Kramer and James Lofton will sign autographs Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon in the Lambeau Field Atrium, and on Sunday Lofton will sign autographs at surprise locations around Lambeau Field from 10:25 a.m. to 11:25 a.m. Kramer will be in the Legends Club on the Associated Bank Club level, an area open to game goers with suite or club seating.

    Johnny Jolly will sign autographs and greet fans at the Chevrolet display on the Fan Walkway on the east side of Lambeau Field, near Johnsonville Tailgate Village, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

    Lambeau Field is considered one of the best stadiums in the NFL

    Lambeau Field is ranked first or second as the NFL’s best stadium in two USA TODAY films, one by individual writers with stadium experience, and the other in a poll of six sportswriters.

    The individual writers ranked Lambeau No. 1 in the league, saying: “If anything, Lambeau Field remains the old-school experience you want, rising from Green Bay’s suburban grid to welcome NFL pilgrims to its hallowed grounds. Between History of the Hall of Fame and the icy aluminum benches that freeze your Leinenkugel’s in the can every December, it’s perfect rough football,” USA Today said in its annual survey.

    USA TODAY’s six sportswriters ranked Lambeau at No. 2.

    Green Bay Metro offers free shuttle service

    Green Bay Metro offers four free shuttle routes, with buses running to and from Lambeau on the half hour from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and again from the end of the game until 4:30 p.m. for afternoon games. Routes to Lambeau Field run from Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport, downtown Green Bay, the far east side of Green Bay and downtown De Pere.

    Who will sing the national anthem?

    Franki Moscato, a native of Northeastern Wisconsin and American Idol contestant, will perform the national anthem. She sang the national anthem several times at Lambeau Field.

    The game will be broadcast on CBS

    According to 506sports.com, CBS will air the Packers-Texans game in red on Sunday at noon. Tennessee at Buffalo is yellow, Cincinnati at Cleveland in brown, Carolina at Washington in blue and Las Vegas at Los Angeles Rams in green.

    Announcers are Jim Nantz doing play-by-play, Tony Romo providing analysis and Tracy Wolfson reporting from the sidelines.

    Green Bay is the smallest market in the NFL, with 328,268 metro area residents, compared to Houston, which has 7.1 million metro area residents.
