Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s infamous sex tape nearly cost the Baywatch icon her job.

In the new docuseries “After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun,” “Baywatch” co-creator and producer Michael Berk revealed that there were talks about removing Anderson, 57, from the hit NBC series after her sex tape with Lee, 61, leaked in 1996.

“When Pam’s sex tape came out, the studio said, ‘Look, write her out of a couple of episodes, we have to figure out what to do with this, this is a disaster,’” Berk recalled.

Anderson became a beloved celebrity for her role as CJ Parker in “Baywatch” – but her whole life changed because of the infamous sex tape scandal.

The leak of the home movie, which Lee made during his honeymoon with Anderson between 1995 and ’96, made Anderson even more famous, to the point that it influenced “Baywatch” in ways its creators and producers had not anticipated.

“The next episode that aired, it got double the ratings,” Berk said. “The ratings shot up.”

Anderson, who divorced Lee two years after their sex tape leaked, reflected on the scandal in an unaired interview featured in the documentary.

“It was stolen property,” she said. “It was two insanely naked people in love. We were naked the whole time, filming each other, pretending to be crazy.”

“But those tapes were not meant to be seen by anyone else,” Anderson added. “I haven’t seen them to this day, it was very painful.”

Anderson and Lee’s sex tape was stolen by Rand Gauthier, who claimed the couple failed to pay him for $20,000 worth of electrical work he had done on their Malibu home.

He created a website to sell bootleg copies of the video, and it quickly spread far and wide. According to Rolling Stone, the video grossed more than $77 million worldwide.

Anderson filed a lawsuit against Internet Entertainment Group, the company that distributed the sex tape. She and Lee later reached a settlement with the company.

The scandal was made into the 2022 Hulu miniseries “Pam & Tommy,” starring Lily James and Sebastian Stan. Anderson reportedly refused to watch the show.

Anderson and Lee had an intense and explosive relationship that included run-ins with the paparazzi. They welcomed two sons, Brandon Thomas Lee, 28, and Dylan Jagger Lee, 26, before their divorce.

“Pam and Tommy Lee’s relationship complicated things,” Berk said in the doc. “It complicated her life. It complicated our lives.”

He continued, “I like Tommy Lee. I liked them together. Pam loved Tommy. He was great. But there was a time frame where they might have had problems in their marriage, or issues, or whatever.”

Berk also recalls how Lee was jealous of Anderson’s relationships with her fellow actors on the series.

“There was an incident where Tommy Lee came into her trailer, and she was doing a scene with (David) Chokachi, and he got increasingly angry that she didn’t come and he trashed her trailer.”

Anderson did not participate in the “Baywatch” documentary and also skipped Monday’s premiere, along with OG star David Hasselhoff.

The “Home Improvement” star previously spoke candidly about her wild life in her Netflix documentary “Pamela: A Love Story” and her memoir “Love, Pamela,” both of which were released last year.

She told her doctor that she had “blocked” her stolen sex tape and that reliving the year the video leaked made her “sick.”

Anderson also said that with the release of both projects, she wanted to “take control of the story” for the first time.

“After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun” can be streamed on Hulu.
