Paris 2024 Paralympic Closing Ceremony: The Paralympic Games will conclude on Sunday 8 September, after days of exhilarating yet breathtaking performances by para-athletes from around the world. The Paralympic Closing Ceremony will take place at the Stade de France, following 11 days of incredible sporting events that saw new world records set alongside Paralympic records.

As the 17th edition of the Paralympics in Paris draws to a close, major celebrations are taking place at the Stade de France. The closing ceremony pays tribute to the 4,400 athletes from 168 Paralympic delegations who took part in 549 events in 22 sports this year.

The grand finale will feature 24 artists from the French electronic music scene, reports The Times of IndiaIn addition, the last day of the Paralympic Games in Paris will see the traditional protocols, including speeches, national anthems and the handover of the Paralympic flag to the next host for the 2028 Summer Games.

Notable performances scheduled for today include jazz pianist Matthew Whitaker, violinist and singer-songwriter Gaelynn Lea, rapper, songwriter and athlete Garnett Silver-Hall and performing artist Anderson .Paak, reported The Times of India.

The Paralympic Games will be held in Los Angeles, USA, in 2028. Tony Award-winning actress and Broadway celebrity Ali Stroker will reportedly sing the US national anthem at the handover ceremony.

When, where and how can you watch the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games in Paris?

The Paris Paralympic Games grand finale will be broadcast on DD Sports and Sports 18 channels, which will air at 11:30 pm today. Meanwhile, the JIO Cinema platform will offer live and online streaming options.

India’s Performance at the Paris Paralympic Games

India has so far won a total of 29 medals at the Paris Paralympic Games, including seven gold, nine silver and 13 bronze. With the latest additions of javelin thrower Navdeep Singh’s gold and sprinter Simran’s bronze, the country currently stands at 15th position in the medal table.
