There are two fights left for Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 2, which of course precedes Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson.

Next we have Mario Barrios vs. Abel Ramos or Neeraj Goyat vs. Whindersson Nunes.

The latter is a middleweight fight, as Barrios defends the WBC welterweight title against Ramos.

Barrios is the interim champion as the first bell approaches, but he is elevated as soon as it sounds. The question then is whether he can remain champion.

The pace has slowed down a bit, but not the intensity, if that makes sense; the offense is a bit slower, but both women are working their way through these late rounds.

In the final frame, Watpool lands a blow that she has taken quite a bit in recent rounds – a sneaky jab at the end of a combination.

Green with a moment of success now though, landing as he backs away.

Green wins an exciting fight for the vacant WBO women’s super-middleweight title!

Green tries to vary her attack by throwing in more hooks to break up a flow of straight punches. However, Watpool responds with some neat work: a nice combination of straights up top, setting up a body shot.

Sharp jab from Green now, but she eats her right hand. Watpool cuts off the ring as Green shuffles back and forth to stay off the ropes.

Green starts with some heavy shots and takes the fight to Watpool, but the punches look a little labored.

Wow. Green really flies overhand, but Watpool sees it coming from a mile away. Watpool looks like the fresher fighter at the moment.

Some smart body shots from Watpool in close range as we head into round seven.

The trend of the first two rounds continues as we approach the halfway point: Watpool pressing forward, with Green looking to maintain a tight defense and get counter shots at the Canadian.

Every woman has moments of success, but Green looks the best so far.

Now, though, Watpool has a moment to corner Green and land a cross and hook from close range! Green certainly felt it.

Some clinching ensues, with Green landing a few punches before the break. Four rounds completed, out of ten.

Green and Watpool have largely stuck to their statements so far, but just as I type that, Green makes a slick cross to tag Watpool. And one more. A third! Green finds her rhythm and uses that shot nicely on the counter.

Watpool backs Green to the ropes and lands a straight of his own, spearing it onto Green’s chin. Green ties up her opponent in response.

I have to say that I’m rarely in awe of sporting venues, but AT&T Stadium is something else. There are large screens above the ring, yes even bigger screens up there, and they are gigantic.

Moreover, compared to most boxing events, there are already a lot of fans in the stadium. 70,000 are expected tonight, breaking the Texas Sports Gate record (for money generated from ticket sales) here. It’s almost double the previous record ($17.8 million compared to Canelo’s $9 million vs. Saunders).

Shadasia Green will face Melinda Watpool for the vacant WBO women’s super-middleweight title.

America’s Green and Canada’s Watpool are in the ring and we’re about to play up to ten two-minute rounds.

Later, of course, we have Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 2.

This could be a big shock, Casamonica has shuffled around the ring and produced smart, clear boxing, while Bahdi has been a bit confused.

The goalscorer for Netflix tonight, Sean Wheelock, has leaned towards the Italian during this match.

The judges give Bahdi an MD, which seems generous: 95-95, 96-93 and 98-92 for the Canadian.

“That was absolutely not the fight we saw,” is the judgment from the Netflix broadcast. That last scorecard is a shocker, Casamonica had more volume and pressure. Bahdi narrowly defeated Casamonica, 124-113, with both fighters landing 19 percent of their punches.

Casamonica’s corner is lively, the Italian jabs nicely and in this fight.

Bahdi also started with the uppercut, which just caught fire in the seventh.

The Italian’s footwork, in this 20×20 ring, helps him squeeze the round. There is a clear plan here from the Italian, who chooses his moment to launch heavy, wing-like rights.
