Penn State’s Tyler Warren gets in the action with a touchdown against USC

Penn State’s offense has undergone quite a transformation under new offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki. The best examples of this are tight end Tyler Warren’s unique formations and creative usage. Warren has lined up the entire formation, including wide receiver, running back, fullback and even quarterback.

The different formations and positions they can use Warren in have produced some of the best plays of the season so far, and he had perhaps his wildest game yet.

If you couldn’t tell from the clip, not only did Warren catch the touchdown on Beau Pribula’s reverse pass to Drew Allar, but he actually snapped the ball to start the play. Talk about doing everything yourself.

Penn State desperately needed a spark after a terrible first half in which the offense scored just six points. The defense, meanwhile, was repeatedly beaten to the ground, giving up 144 yards in the first half.

Now that Penn State’s offense has some momentum, the defense needs to figure things out to try to turn this game around before it’s too late. James Franklin’s team can’t afford such a loss now that they have a clear path to a playoff berth.
