John Krasinski has been named the Sexiest Man Alive of 2024 by People magazine.

Krasinski, 45, was announced Tuesday night as this year’s hottest hunk on CBS’ “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

The star of ‘The Office’ was humiliated by the selection and told the magazine he thought he was being ‘punked’.

“Basically just an instant blackout. No thoughts,” he told People. “Except maybe I’m being tricked. That’s not the way I wake up and think, “Is this the day I’m asked to be the sexiest man alive?” And yet it was the day you did it. You have really raised the bar for me.”

Glen Powell, Jeremy Allen White, Pedro Pascal and Ryan Reynolds were among the favorites to take home the People’s beefcake crown.

Reactions to Krasinski receiving the honor were mixed on social media — with some questioning the “A Quiet Place” star’s relevance for 2024.

“I’m going to crash because WDYM JOHN KRASINSKI??? in 2024???!!!” wrote an X user.

Others supported People’s choice of Krasinksi, who is married to fellow actor Emily Blunt.

“STOP TRACKING JOHN KRASINSKI OHHH HE’S SO FINE,” another X user exclaimed.

Had Reynolds won, he would have become only the fourth man to win the title outright twice, following in the footsteps of Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Johnny Depp, all of whom have been named Sexiest Man Alive in two separate years.

Patrick Dempsey won the award in 2023, after Chris Evans in 2022.

Ahead of Tuesday night’s announcement, people revealed that other swoon-worthy guys were featured in the Sexiest Man Alive issue.

Benny Blanco was one of People’s Sexiest Men, an honor his girlfriend Selena Gomez celebrated on social media.

“Not only do you love me unconditionally, you always get me my Mexican Taco Bell pizza,” she wrote on her Instagram Story alongside a photo of Blanco from his People photo shoot.

The ‘sexy boys’ from the hit sitcom ‘New Girl’ – Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, Lamorne Morris and Damon Wayans Jr. – also appeared in the issue, coming together for the first time since the show ended.

Also on Tuesday, People announced the winners of its reader poll, in which more than 350,000 votes were cast in fifteen closely fought races:

Thirty-four men have been named Sexiest Man Alive since People began awarding the title in 1985.

Ben Affleck, Bradley Cooper, George Clooney, Sean Connery, Johnny Depp, Chris Evans, Richard Gere, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jude Law, John F. Kennedy Jr., Hugh Jackman, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Harmon, Adam Levine, Matthew McConaughey, Michael B. Jordan, John Legend, Ryan Reynolds, Paul Rudd, Blake Shelton, Tom Cruise, Patrick Dempsey, Brad Pitt, Pierce Brosnan, Nick Nolte, Patrick Swayze, Channing Tatum, David Beckham, Idris Elba, Harry Hamlin, Matt Damon and Denzel Washington have all received the People Seal of Approval.

Interestingly enough, in 1993, People chose exes Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere as the “Sexiest Couple Alive,” temporarily dropping the “Sexiest Man Alive” title. The couple were married from 1991 to 1995.
