Pete Alonso took Jack Flaherty deep in the first inning of Game 5 of the National League Championship Series on Friday to give the Mets an early 3-0 lead at Citi Field. It was Alonso’s fourth homerun of the postseason.

The homer comes after the Mets escaped a disastrous start while trailing 3-1 in the series as David Peterson was able to get out of trouble with runners on third and second base with no outs in the top of the first inning. Now the Mets will look to hold on to the lead to send the series back to Los Angeles.
