Sharp photographers from across East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire captured images of Thursday’s Hunter’s supermoon.

Super moons form when the moon is closest to Earth and appear larger and brighter than normal – up to 15% brighter and 30% larger than regular full moons.

October’s Full Moon is called the Hunter’s Moon because it occurs during the time of year when hunters would traditionally have been most active, making plans for the coming winter months and hunting animals for food.

The next supermoon of the year is on November 15, is called the Beaver Moon and will be the last supermoon of the year.
