It promises to be a World Series for the ages.

Two of Major League Baseball’s most storied franchises, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees, meet in this year’s Fall Classic, and both teams feature some of the sport’s biggest names.

The Dodgers are led by Shohei Ohtani, the Japanese superstar who made history this year when he became the first player ever to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in the same season. He is just one of many All-Stars on a team that includes former MVPs Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman.

The Yankees have two of the best hitters in baseball: Aaron Judge and Juan Soto. Judge led the majors in home runs (58) and runs batted in (144) this year.

No team has won more World Series titles than the Yankees, who are looking for their 28th championship and first since 2009. The Dodgers won their seventh title in 2020.

Tickets for the series will be the most expensive ever. And the ratings are expected to be sky high too, as the two strong teams represent the country’s two largest TV markets.

Game 1 is Friday in Los Angeles. Game 2 will be played there on Saturday before the series moves to New York on Monday.
