Police had a standoff with a barricaded person near downtown Plymouth, New Hampshire, on Tuesday evening and night.

People were urged to avoid the area around the roundabout in Plymouth due to the gridlock on Route 25, New Hampshire State Police said.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured, but police said the incident was contained while it was active.

Plymouth State University is located near the city’s roundabout, but there was no immediate indication the incident involved the school, which posted no safety alerts as of Wednesday evening.
