Police investigate shooting on the Las Vegas Strip that left one dead

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Road rage has led to a deadly shooting on the Las Vegas Strip, police say.

Las Vegas police said the shooting happened in front of the Palazzo near Las Vegas Boulevard and Sands Avenue.

At 4:04 p.m., police said a man was shot in the neck in front of the Palazzo. Initial details indicate that the shooting was related to road rage.

Road rage led to a deadly shooting on the Las Vegas Strip, police say.

The victim walked up to the suspect’s car before he was shot. Police say the 50-year-old male victim died at the scene. The victim, an Uber driver, also had a gun, but did not fire it.

The suspect fled the scene in a silver Subaru WRX. Metro’s Fusion Watch Command was able to identify the license plate number of the suspects’ vehicle and quickly notified all Metro officers of the suspect Subaru and license plate information.

Metro also knew the suspect’s address near Washington Avenue and Torrey Pines Drive and when LVMPD approached her home, the woman in her 20s turned herself in to police.

According to police, the man, an Uber driver with two passengers in his car, drove behind the suspects shortly before the shooting occurred. The victim then punched the glass of the suspect’s car and police believe he was shot.

Police indicated that if the victim had stayed in his car, he would still be alive.

LVMPD is not looking for any other suspects in this shooting.

Metro said Las Vegas Boulevard is now open in both directions between Sands and Sirens Cove Drive.
