A powerful 6.0 magnitude earthquake shook the Oregon coast Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

The earthquake struck about 200 miles (300 kilometers) from Coos Bay at around 1:15 p.m. local time, the US Geological Survey said.

The National Tsunami Warning Center reported that no tsunami was caused by the earthquake, the National Weather Service said in a tweet.
