A Premier League footballer has been dumped by his wife after she sensationally watched him take a mystery woman into the family home via his Ring doorbell camera, MailOnline can reveal.

The international footballer, a household name, was thrown out of his family home after his wife received a photo of him in the marital bed on Instagram, with the caption: ‘I slept with your husband.’

The furious wife was on vacation with the couple’s young children at the time and checked the family’s Ring app, where she found footage of her husband arriving home with his female companion.

A source said: ‘The woman was completely shocked and distressed as nothing can prepare you for something like this.’

Her famous husband had assured her that the photo she had received was fake, but she didn’t quite believe him.

The source added: ‘When she saw the doorbell camera footage she knew straight away what the truth was.

‘There was no way back and it meant the end of the marriage.’

The footballer, who MailOnline is not naming, was recently part of his country’s squad for the European Championships, with some of his team-mates even joking about the end of his marriage.

The source added: ‘All the players knew about it and many of their families knew about it because everyone was talking about it in Germany. Some players nicknamed him “Ringo” and called him that behind his back.

“But it’s no joke, because it has all caused a lot of grief and torn a family apart.”

It depicted two people, whose faces are not visible, in her marital bed. In the background, a photo of the footballer hung on the wall, lovingly embracing his wife and their children.

The furious WAG called her husband to question him about the photo, but he maintained his innocence, saying it wasn’t him and the photo had been manipulated.

At first she believed him, but her doubts lingered. When she returned to their multi-million dollar mansion and checked the doorbell camera, the suspicious WAG decided to turn detective. There she saw the damning footage of him entering the house with the woman.

She also saw that the woman accompanying her husband was the same one who had sent her the photo on Instagram.

The source added: “They were very happily married for a number of years. She’s a high-profile WAG and he’s one of the most recognisable faces in the Premier League. It’s quite shocking how their marriage came to an end.”

The brave WAG’s investigative work is reminiscent of the famous ‘Wagatha Christie’ scandal surrounding Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy.

Coleen, the wife of former England captain Wayne Rooney, has accused her WAG colleague of leaking stories about her to the press, claiming she discovered this after doing her own research on social media.

Rebekah denied the accusation and sued Coleen for defamation in July 2022, but she lost the case dramatically.
