PS5 Black Friday prices appear to be confirmed, but Sony has removed the announcement video

Sony recently released a “Play Has No Limits | PS5” ad promoting a special holiday price for the PlayStation 5 Slim (Digital) for $379.99. The deal, which runs through Black Friday and expires after December 24, served as official confirmation of a major PS5 Black Friday offer.

However, the original YouTube video has since been removed and replaced with a new “Play Has No Limits” trailer that omits any mention of possible sale details, leaving open questions about the promotion. We managed to grab a screenshot of the details before the video was deleted, which you can see below.

A deleted PlayStation YouTube video seemingly confirms the Black Friday/Holiday deal.

Dropping the price from $449.99 to $379.99 – a $70 discount – this offer delivers significant savings on the console, making it one of the most attractive PlayStation deals currently available. We expect more Black Friday deals to appear soon, starting with the 10% discount on PlayStation gift cards currently available from Amazon.

That’s right, Amazon Prime members can now also enjoy a 10% discount on gaming gift cards, including those for PlayStation. The promotion includes significant savings such as $25 off a $250 PlayStation gift card, $10 off $100, and so on. These discounts are especially valuable for those who plan to purchase digital games, downloadable content or subscriptions during the holiday sales.

10% discount is available on gift cards from $250 to $10.

As for the PS5 Slim Disc Edition, which typically retails for $499.99, there has been no official announcement of a price drop. However, given the discount on the Digital Edition, it is reasonable to anticipate possible offers for the Disc Edition also during the Black Friday period.

At the time of publishing this article, Sony has yet to reconfirm the original video or holiday pricing for the PS5 Slim. However, with Black Friday sales already underway at retailers like Walmart, another official announcement could be on the horizon.

There’s been a lot of speculation about what PlayStation fans could expect this Black Friday, including the possibility of a discount or bundle deal for the PS5 Pro. In addition to hardware deals, we also considered which games are likely to drop in price soon.

In other Black Friday news, Nintendo also recently announced its Black Friday sales plans, with discounts on Tears of the Kingdom, Joy-Con controllers and more going on sale in the coming days.

When is Black Friday 2024?

The actual date of Black Friday falls on November 29 in 2024 this year, but deal season starts much earlier than that. In the run-up to the big event, retailers will start opening deals online. This usually starts in the last week of Octoberjust before Halloween. More deals are slowly rolled out each week leading up to the event, ultimately leading to huge discounts on Black Friday. Retailers won’t announce their biggest Black Friday deals until the big day, but most general deals will be available well in advance.
