CIRCLEVILLE, OH — As the Circleville Pumpkin Show approaches, 16-year-old Sadie Binkley, a student at Logan Elm High School, is eager to represent her community as a candidate for the Miss Pumpkin Show.

Sadie, daughter of Jamey and Sarah Binkley, is deeply rooted in the traditions of the Pumpkin Show and considers it a cherished time for family and friends. “For many of us from Circleville, the Pumpkin Show is an annual homecoming. It’s a chance to relax and enjoy time together,” she said.

Looking back on her favorite memories, Sadie remembers competing in the Little Miss Pumpkin Show when she was in first grade. “It was so fun to see all my friends dressed up and ready for battle, riding through the parade and smiling at everyone,” she said.

When it comes to the show’s culinary delights, Sadie’s favorite is the pumpkin ice cream served by the Circleville Rotary Club, which she describes as the best year after year.

As she describes the Pumpkin Show to newcomers, she emphasizes its significance: “Every October, Circleville hosts the largest free show in the world. The city streets come alive with a major festival promoting agriculture, schools and community organizations where families and friends create lasting memories.”

If Sadie had the chance, she would extend the festival by adding an extra day so that visitors can fully enjoy everything on offer without feeling rushed.

As a candidate for Queen, she wants to highlight what makes the Pumpkin Show unique, with an emphasis on its rich traditions and community spirit. “I want to share what makes the Pumpkin Show special and make sure everyone knows why it is the greatest free show in the world.”

Sadie calls her mother the biggest influence in her life. “She inspires me to treat others with kindness and is always willing to help,” she said, highlighting the strong bond they share.

One of her proudest accomplishments is leading her high school softball team to the State Final Four as a pitcher last spring. “It was a great run and I loved every minute of it,” said Sadie.

As the Pumpkin Show approaches, Sadie’s enthusiasm for her community and its traditions shines through, making her a promising candidate for the title of Miss Pumpkin Show.
