Rain and rumble tonight, unsettled pattern Sunday

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Showers and storms reaching western Michigan tonight will be our next best chance to see rain.

Any serious risk is terribly low for us tonight, but as some cooler air begins to slowly filter through the upper layers of our atmosphere, any more organized storms could produce gusty winds and some small hail.

Areas favored for rain and rumbling tonight are closer to the lakeshore.

The boundary where these showers and storms will travel will give us a few scattered showers Sunday morning before more variable activity lingers throughout the day.

There will be mostly cloudy skies as winds keep daytime highs in the mid 60s.

A cold front will approach from the west tomorrow evening. This will lead to more showers and storms from tomorrow evening into Monday morning, as winds from the north pick up and bring in fresh autumn air.

Scattered showers and wind gusts up to 30 mph on Monday will bring daytime highs into the low 50s under cloudy skies.

Because winds will be higher, it will help hold overnight lows into the mid-40s Monday night and keep any frost reports at bay.

There will be a few more showers on Tuesday that will be strengthened by the lake, after which they will move to the northeast on Wednesday.

Daytime through midweek highs will remain in the low 50s and overnight lows will remain in the low 40s. With winds still high through Wednesday, wind chill values will drop to the upper 30s at night.

Late in the day on Wednesday, the clouds finally start to break, opening the door to a very mild window to welcome the Guardians home for Games 3 and 4 of the ALCS.

Daytime highs will warm in the 60s under dry skies to near 70 degrees by next weekend.
