HONOLULU – The University of Hawai’i football team will host its annual Homecoming Game with a Mountain West matchup against Nevada Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Clarence TC Ching Complex. The Rainbow Warriors (2-5, 0-2 MW) will look to snap a three-game losing streak when they welcome the Wolf Pack (3-5, 0-2) to the Isles. UH has won three of the last four meets in Honolulu, including the last two.

Game day promotion:
OUTRIGGER Resorts and Hotels will be the presenting sponsor of a game that all UH fans look forward to with the annual “Homecoming Game.” We will remember the past as we welcome the memorable 1999 Rainbow Warrior football team, guided by legendary head coach June Jones. Now we’re celebrating by making Homecoming all about the students with 500 Retro Rainbow Rally towels courtesy of OUTRIGGER and 500 Homecoming t-shirts designed by Sweet Enemy alumnus Drew Honda. The 2024 Rainbow Wahine Water Polo Team will be on hand to celebrate their Big West Water Polo Championship along with legendary and recently retired head coach Maureen Cole. One lucky fan will have a chance to win $1,000 when they attempt the All-State Field Goal Challenge.

All pregame activities have officially moved to Legacy Path, located directly across from Campus Center, and extending to Dole Street. Fans can expect nearly 30 vendors and activities, along with a pregame concert starting at 3 p.m. featuring Kani Ka Pila Grille talent search winners Rickey Kamai and Kahiau Lam Ho, plus Peni Dean presented by Hawaii’s Finest.

GAME STORYLINES

• This week’s game marks the 29th meeting between the teams, with Nevada holding a 15-13 overall lead.
• The teams have met every year since 2000 – all as conference members (WAC: 2000-11; MW: 2012-present). In conference play, the series is tied at 12-12.
• Hawaii has won the last two meetings in Honolulu and three of the last four dating back to 2016 and have a 10-6 edge in the 50th state.
• Eleven of the last thirteen meetings were decided by more than 10 points.
• UH head coach Timmy Chang coached wide receivers and tight ends at Nevada from 2017 to 2021 under former head coach Jay Norvell. The Wolf Pack made four bowl appearances while Chang was on the staff.
• DL Dion Washington and W.R Spencer Curtis played in Nevada prior to UH. Washington played in 27 games over three seasons from 2021-23, while Curtis played in 23 games with 16 starts from 2022-23.
• This week’s game is Hawai’i’s Homecoming game. UH is 41-30-1 all-time at Homecoming.
• Nevada has been UH’s Homecoming opponent three times previously (1968, 2002, 2014). The Warriors are 2-1 against them with wins in 1968 (21-0) and 2002 (59-34). The Wolf Pack won the 2014 game 26-18.
• Chang was Hawaii’s quarterback in the 2002 game, throwing for 381 yards and directing an offense that set school records for total offense (674) and first-quarter points (42).
• UH (2-5, 0-2 MW) suffered a 42-10 loss to Washington State last week in Pullman, Washington. The Rainbow Warriors suffered their largest margin of defeat while posting a season-low in passing yards and tying a season high with three turnovers.
• Nevada (3-5, 0-2) suffered a 24-21 loss at home to Fresno State in a game where the Wolf Pack led 21-17 at halftime and was shutout in the second half.
• Four of Nevada’s five losses this year were by five points or less.
• UH has averaged 16.3 points in four home games, compared to 33.3 points in three road games.
