Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua was absent from Sunday night’s game against the Detroit Lions and will not return due to a knee injury.

Nacua was originally listed as questionable after suffering the injury on a 6-yard catch with 6:36 remaining in the second quarter. He was not touched on the play and eventually returned to the field just before halftime.

However, at half-time Nacua was taken to the dressing room and was ruled out for the remainder of the match.

Nacua, 23, had four catches for 35 yards before his night was over.

In 17 games (all as a starter) last season, Nacua set rookie records with 105 receptions for 1,486 yards. He also hauled in six touchdowns.

Sunday was the season opener for the Rams, who went 10-7 last season.
