Rapper Rich Homie Quan Dies at 34

Rapper Rich Homie Quan has died, multiple people report online. He was 34.

The 41-year-old “Wipe Me Down” rapper also appeared to reveal the suspected cause of death, sharing in a separate X post on Thursday: “JUST GOT MESSAGE FROM @RichHomieQuan JUST OVER ‼️”

Podcaster Adam Grandmaison, better known as Adam22, posted a photo of him and Quan to his Instagram Stories on Thursday, writing, “RIP Rich Homie Quan.”

TMZ also confirmed Quan’s death through the late rapper’s family and the Fulton County Mortuary. Relatives told the outlet they are “devastated and heartbroken by his sudden passing.”

Page Six has reached out to representatives for Quan but did not immediately receive confirmation of his alleged death. The rapper’s social media accounts have also not released any official statements.

Quan’s last Instagram post was shared Monday and showed the “Type of Way” rapper — whose real name is Dequantes Devontay Lamar — wearing a football jersey and glasses.

The slideshow, which also featured him on stage, was captioned: “Clear vision even through all the nonsense 🤫.”

Rapper Boosie BadAzz claimed on X that Quan had “OD’d.”
BadAzz also used the hashtag “ripQuan.”

Quan’s alleged drug use had gotten him into trouble in the past.

In May 2017, he was charged with drug possession with intent to distribute, but the case was dropped in 2019 due to lack of evidence, TMZ reported.

Quan, born in Atlanta, was best known as a member of Cash Money Records.

His 2015 single “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” topped the Billboard Charts at number 26.

Quan’s death comes just days after the rap world lost yet another star.
