Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (1) celebrates after scoring against the New York Jets during the third quarter at State Farm Stadium.

The New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals collided in a Week 10 matchup that continued their respective 2024 NFL seasons.

The Jets (3-7) were embarrassed by the Cardinals (6-4) in a 31-6 final. There was a lot of back and forth play for Gang Green across the board during the match.

With that, here are Jets Wire’s grades for offense, defense, special teams and coaching in Week 10:

Pass offense – D+

Aaron Rodgers finished 22 for 35,151 yards and a fumble in yet another poor performance for the Hall Of Fame Quarterback. He was sacked three times and averaged just over four yards per pass, which is pathetic. Garrett Wilson was the team’s leading receiver with five receptions for 41 yards and you know it’s a bad day for Rodgers when he targets Davante Adams 13 times and his favorite receiver finishes with just 31 yards on six receptions.

Rushing Foul – C+

Breece Hall finished with ten carries for 52 yards and four receptions for 31 yards. Hall averaged 5.2 yards per carry, which is solid. But Arizona scored 31 points on its first five possessions, forcing the Jets to abandon the run and take one of their best offensive weapons out of the game.

Run defense – F

Another humbling performance from this unit as the Cardinals ran for 187 yards on the ground and scored three touchdowns, including two from Kyler Murray. The run defense issues are officially a five-alarm fire and it will only get worse next week when they face the Colts and Jonathan Taylor.

Pass defense – F

Kyler Murray completed 17 consecutive passes and finished 22 of 24 for 266 yards, a touchdown and a QB rating of 126.7. It’s the same song and dance with this defense as a bad tackle led to longer gains and longer drives. The pass rush was non-existent with just one sack from Quincy Williams. I’m starting to wonder if Sauce Gardner has officially retired from this team as he has become a liability in the secondary.

Special Teams–A-

I guess it wasn’t all bad, as in his first game as a Jet, Spencer Schrader made both field goal attempts, including one from 45 yards. Thomas Morstead only kicked twice, but averaged 46.5 yards and had one kick land inside the 20. While it’s too early to tell if they’ve found a kicker to replace Greg Zuerlein, Schrader earned the right to to be the kicker for at least a week.

Coaching–F

This is the second time this season that the Jets coaching staff had extra time to prepare for an opponent and once again the team was flat, unprepared and uninterested. There was nothing resembling a competent game plan on either side of the ball. The defense, which was supposed to be the backbone of this team, allowed over 400 yards of total offense, couldn’t stop the run again, couldn’t get after the quarterback, couldn’t tackle, and couldn’t force a turnover. The offense continues to be slow to get going and Aaron Rodgers had another disappointing performance. It was yet another in a long line of brutal losses for the Jets in a game they had to win. With the playoffs being nothing more than a dream at this point in the season, the coaching staff may want to update their resume as they will most likely be gone after this season mercifully ends.
