    Rumor has it that iPhone 16 and Airpods will be unveiled

    Apple will unveil its latest iPhone lineup and other product updates during the Apple Event on Monday.

    The September event, with the tagline “It’s Glowtime,” is rumored to focus on the Silicon Valley giant’s flagship phone, which could be upgraded with artificial intelligence support and an improved camera.

    Apple watchers also suspect that the Apple Watch and Airpods will get an upgrade.

    Apple’s event starts at 1 p.m. EDT/10 a.m. PDT on Monday and will be streamed on the company’s website and YouTube channel.

    Here’s What Will Rumoredly Be Revealed During Apple’s “It’s Glowtime” Event

    iPhone 16 and 16 Plus

    Apple’s expected announcement on Monday is the new iPhone 16 series.

    The biggest upgrade rumored to come in the iPhone 16 is a new A18 chip with 8GB of RAM, which is said to support Apple Intelligence, the company’s artificial intelligence software.

    9to5Mac reported in March that the new chip is designed to support artificial intelligence in the device.

    According to MacRumors, the new models will get an action button, replacing the iPhone 15’s mute button that was previously found in the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.

    The iPhone 16’s cameras will likely be rearranged from the diagonal orientation of the iPhone 15 to the vertical layout seen in the previous-generation Pro models. The change, according to 9to5Mac, is intended to support spatial video capture.

    Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted on social media site X that the company will release the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 plus in black, green, pink, blue and white.

    iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max

    The premium iPhone model gets larger displays and a fix for the heat management issues of the previous model.

    MacRumors reported that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max displays would each be .2 inches larger than the equivalent iPhone 15 model, at 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively. The site suggested the phones would be slightly larger than their predecessors.

    9to5Mac reports that the iPhone 16 Pro could see the same 5x zoom tetraprism camera that’s currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The model is also said to be the first to be able to record video at 4K resolution at 120 fps.

    The top row could see the addition of a “capture button” that would open and control the phone’s camera. According to 9to5Mac, the button could appear on all models, while MacRumors suggested it could be an exclusive feature to the Pro and Pro Max.

    A leaked photo of Apple watcher Kotusami Ito posted to X in November showed off a prototype of the battery case that could be used in the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max to prevent overheating issues that plagued the iPhone 15 Pro. The case is said to use a metal cover instead of a tin one.

    Kuo predicted that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will come in black, white, silver, gray, and pink.

    Airpods 4

    Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported in November that the company was planning to overhaul its wireless earbud lineup, and 9to5Mac reported that the results of the overhaul would be announced on Monday.

    The company is discontinuing the Airpods 2 and Airpods 3 and is releasing the entry-level and mid-range wearables under the name Airpods 4.

    The entry-level AirPods likely won’t have noise cancellation, while the mid-range models will. According to 9to5Mac, the AirPods Pro won’t see any changes until 2025.

    Apple Watch

    All Apple watch models will be upgraded on Monday.

    Series 10

    The company is reportedly planning to announce the Apple Watch Series 10. Notable changes include larger case sizes of 45mm and 49mm and larger displays, according to 9to5Mac.

    Gurman reported in his Power on newsletter that the latest Apple Watch SE could ditch its aluminum casing for one made of “rigid plastic.” The company is switching the back of the entry-level smartwatch from ceramic to a nylon composite material in 2022.

    Ultra3

    Rumors surrounding the Ultra 3 are few and far between, but 9to5Mac suggested the watch would get a new chip but no hardware updates.

    iOS 18 update schedule

    USA TODAY previously reported that the event will likely reveal the release date of iOS 18.

    The operating system was unveiled in June at the Worldwide Developers Conference, where Apple showed that the system would integrate Apple Intelligence.
