Keith Gordon, a 62-year-old self-described “Girl Dad” from San Jose, caught the attention of Joan Vassos on Wednesday’s season premiere of “The Golden Bachelorette” by pulling up in a vintage station wagon and asking, “Do you like this cute vehicle?”

The handsome, 6-foot-5 Gordon offered to take Vassos to the beach, bringing a basket full of cheese, wine and crackers.

After Wednesday night’s episode of the ABC dating show, Vassos explained that she chose Gordon over 23 other candidates for the coveted “first impression rose” because of his memorable entrance. E! News reported that the single father of three daughters opted to arrive in a vintage station wagon instead of his usual limo, which Vassos was moved to say the least.

“The nostalgia of that old station wagon took me back to when I was a kid,” Vassos told E! News in an interview. “We actually had one that looked remarkably like that car. That’s how we traveled. We didn’t have a lot of money, so we just packed up the car and hit the road as a family. It just made me feel good.”
