Sandy Hook victim’s father sees victory after Alex Jones’ Infowars sold at auction – NBC Connecticut

This has been a long and difficult journey for the families who sued Alex Jones, including Robbie Parker.

And while he calls Thursday’s auction result a victory, he is aware that the fight with Alex Jones is probably far from over.

“I’m excited. Which is to say, this is a really big day for us,” Parker said.

Parker’s six-year-old daughter Emilie was murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary in 2012.

He was one of eight families who took Alex Jones into court.

Parker says he wanted to prevent Jones from hurting other people and considers it a victory for Jones to lose his business.

“This is something we’ve worked very hard on for a very long time, and it hasn’t been an easy road, and it’s been uphill, it feels like it all the time, but to be able to claim this victory is exactly what it is, and it feels really good,” Parker said.

Parker had been targeted by Alex Jones on his Infowars show and was falsely accused of being a crisis actor.

After threats, he was forced to move his family out of the state.

“He immediately made me a target for people to hate, and they came after me. So within days of losing my daughter in a horrific school shooting, I’m now being inundated with threats and such from conspiracy theorists,” Parker said.

Parker felt like protecting himself and his family. He withdrew, disconnected from his loved ones and sacrificed his voice.

Being able to speak his truth was an important moment for him in the Connecticut courtroom in 2022.

“I had to reclaim that, and I had to reclaim Emilie’s memory, and open myself up to the trial, find my voice and testify,” Parker said.

That trial led to a convincing verdict and a jaw-dropping moment for Parker, with Jones ultimately ordered to pay $1.4 billion to the families.

Now comes the sale of Jones’ Infowars assets.

“We have taken away the company he spent 30 years building, but we must still be vigilant to ensure he is held accountable,” Parker said.

Parker has now written a book titled “A Father’s Fight,” in which he shares his journey of standing up to Jones and reclaiming the truth about Sandy Hook.

“There’s a lot of healing involved in finding your voice and being able to reconnect with who you are, and that’s a very powerful, important message,” Parker said.

It’s a message he hopes will resonate with others who may be suffering in silence.

And as Parker dealt with his grief, he also saw the book as a way to honor Emilie.

“Fighting to protect her memory was what I had to do as a father,” Parker said.

Parker says what keeps him going in this battle for the truth is his curiosity about the motivations of himself and others.

“A Father’s Fight” is released Tuesday.
