AMES, Iowa — Iowa State takes on North Dakota on Saturday in ISU’s first home game of the season. It’s also the first game of the 50th anniversary of Jack Trice Stadium.

At every game this season, Iowa State will screen clips from historic moments in the stadium’s history, starting with this Saturday’s game.

Nick Joos, Iowa State’s Senior Associate Athletic Director, said the 50th anniversary is a good time for fans to look back.

“It’s a great opportunity for fans to come together and reminisce about the great moments they’ve experienced in the stadium,” Joos said, “whether it was beating Oklahoma State when they were among the national leaders or even back in the ’70s when they beat Nebraska two years in a row.”

The stadium has a new sound system this year. Also new this year is the parking lot at the CYTown development that was completed just in time for Saturday’s home game.

Joos said the continued improvements to Jack Trice Stadium will ensure the stadium will last another 50 years.

“This is a beautiful stadium. There has been a lot of investment in the stadium over the years and we continue to keep it at a high level and there is no reason why it cannot last another 50 seasons, or even longer,” Joos said.
