Saunier scores twice and Dartmouth pulls off a 20-16 victory over Central Connecticut to remain undefeated

HANOVER, N.H. — — Grayson Saunier scored twice on short runs, including the go-ahead goal in the fourth quarter, and undefeated Dartmouth held on for a 20-16 victory over Central Connecticut on Saturday.

Saunier drove in from a yard out to give the Big Green (5-0) the lead on a nine-play drive that started at the Blue Devils’ 32 after Sean Williams’ 26-yard punt return plus a facemask penalty.

The Blue Devils (3-4) took the ensuing kickoff with just over five minutes left and had a first-and-goal at the 9, but only picked up three yards rushing, followed by three incompletions.

CCSU had taken a 16-13 lead early in the fourth quarter on Jadon Turner’s 13-yard run, but the PAT failed.

Saunier passed for 177 yards and ran for 42 yards for Dartmouth, ranked No. 24 in the FCS coaches poll. Owen Zalc scored a pair of field goals.

Brady Olson threw for 168 yards, including a touchdown, to Isaac Boston for CCSU.
