    A possible preview of the AFC championship game is coming your way Sunday night.

    The Week 4 “Sunday Night Football” matchup pits the Buffalo Bills against the Baltimore Ravens. Both teams are also off to an interesting start to their 2024 season.

    Josh Allen looks about as good as Josh Allen has ever looked in the NFL: The Bills passer leads the MVP offense thanks to a 75% completion percentage, seven passing touchdowns and a 133.7 passing rating this season .

    It wasn’t the same offensive success for the Ravens. Lamar Jackson has three touchdown passes in his first three games, combined with a single rushing touchdown. The Ravens are 1-2 on the season and escaped Dallas with a win in Week 3, a possible course correction after their 0-2 start.

    The Bills finally got their first stop, when Dorian Williams knocked the ball out of Jackson’s hands on a first-and-20 run. Jackson had to go airborne to avoid being hit hard low and ended up spinning in the air before losing the ball.

    The Bills will now get the ball back and look to cut Baltimore’s 18-point lead before halftime.

    The Ravens forced the Bills into a three-and-out, when Van Noy entered the backfield on a third-and-8 to sack Allen. It marks Van Noy’s fifth sack in his last three games and will give Baltimore the ball back with a chance to extend its already commanding lead over Buffalo.

    With 7:34 left in the second quarter, Henry has already eclipsed 100 rushing yards, 104 and a touchdown on six carries, while adding nine yards and a touchdown on two catches.

    Henry has now scored six touchdowns through his first 3 1/2 games with the Ravens.

    Three drives for the Ravens, three touchdowns. Jackson found Hill coming out of the backfield and breaking wide open into the end zone as the Buffalo linebackers struggle to contain Hill and Derrick Henry, who have combined for three touchdowns.

    Justin Tucker makes the extra point to extend Baltimore’s lead to 18 points.

    “King Henry” returned to pay dirt early in the second quarter, picking off a TD pass from Lamar Jackson to give the Ravens a 14-3 lead early in the game.

    Henry previously scored the longest TD run in Ravens history, an 87-yard run.

    It was a back-and-forth and tough affair in the first quarter, which ended with the Ravens leading 7-3 over the Bills on the back of a rushing TD by Derrick Henry.

    The Ravens start the second quarter threatening to score again.

    After some confusion due to injuries and penalties, the Bills put points on the board courtesy of the right leg of Tyler Bass, who scored a 50-yard field goal to give Buffalo their first points of the night.

    After a catch in the first quarter, Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir was shaken and slowly got to his feet. The wideout slowly walked to the bench and received further attention from the medical staff on the Bills’ bench.

    Shakir came into the 2024 ‘Sunday Night Football’ game as one of Josh Allen’s favorite targets. He caught 14 passes for 168 yards and that still counts this season.

    Well, that didn’t last long. The Ravens ran the ball to the right side of their offensive line on their first offensive play of the game. Derrick Henry burst through a gaping hole in the line and quickly through every level of the Buffalo defender to get the Ravens on the board.

    Henry’s run was the longest run in Ravens history, and Baltimore has an early 7-0 lead.

    Allen still wears a glove on his non-throwing hand. He suffered a hand injury early in Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season against the Arizona Cardinals, but was able to play through it.

    Allen also has the second and third fingers of his left hand taped together.

    The Bills couldn’t get a first down within their first three plays, but Sean McDermott decided to be aggressive and go for it on fourth down, inches below his own 40-yard line. Josh Allen shot the ball up the middle for an easy first down.

    Yes, for those wondering, James Cook is Dalvin Cook’s younger brother. The younger Cook went to Georgia and was selected in the second round by the Buffalo Bills in the 2022 NFL draft. He is in his third season, while Dalvin, a second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, is in his eighth season.

    James Cook is 25 years old, four years younger than Dalvin, who is 29.

    There was one notable statistic that stood out as a potential problem for Jackson. He completed just 59.1 percent of his passes during his final college season and only 57 percent overall for his college career. It’s rare for quarterbacks to significantly improve their accuracy and efficiency at the NFL level, so Jackson’s “tendency to miss simple throws,” as Lance Zierlein of NFL.com put it, was a concern of some talent evaluators.

    That’s also why a select few — like former Indianapolis Colts general manager and ESPN talent Bill Polian — argued that Jackson should move to receiver at the NFL level.

    Few agreed with Polian’s assessment, although Jackson revealed on one of the Ravens’ podcasts that the Los Angeles Chargers asked him to work out as a receiver at the 2018 NFL Combine.

    The Bills’ coaching staff makeover without Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, a free-agency departure, has highlighted Josh Allen’s growth in a diversified offense. Certainly, third-year pro Khalil Shakir, a Blazer who stretches the field, continues to step up. Shakir has been targeted 14 times and has produced 14 catches. Still, balance was the ticket for Allen.

    “I think he’s spreading the ball around more,” Ravens defensive coordinator Zach Orr told reporters this week. “You really don’t know where the ball is going. All of his receivers are prone to getting the ball in any situation at any time, including the running backs and the tight ends.

    How does Josh Allen do it?

    The No. 1 team on NBC’s Sunday Night Football will remain intact, at least for the foreseeable future.

    According to a report from The Athletic, NBC Sports is close to securing a new four-year contract extension with top analyst Cris Collinsworth. The extension will keep him with the network through the 2029-2030 season. His current contract runs through the 2026 season.

    NBC will air two more Super Bowls over the next six years, including Super Bowl 60 in 2026 and Super Bowl 64 in 2030.

    Collinsworth, 65, who has won seven Emmy Awards for Outstanding Sports Studio Analyst, makes about $12.5 million a year and works with Mike Tirico to call games.

    Weather conditions are worth keeping an eye on during the Bills vs. Ravens game on ‘Sunday Night Football’. It will be 68 degrees with 90 percent humidity when the game starts, and rain will “likely” start falling around 9:45 PM ET, according to Weather.com.

    Winds will gust up to 8 mph during the game, so that could create a challenging environment for kickers once the rain arrives. It shouldn’t be too difficult for Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson to throw early in the game, but it could become more difficult if rain makes the ball slippery later in the evening.
