Seahawks veteran WR Tyler Lockett is snapping a three-game losing streak

The Seattle Seahawks dropped their third straight game on Thursday, losing 36-24 to their NFC West archrival San Francisco 49ers. It was an extremely sloppy performance from the Seahawks, who are now 3-3 despite starting the new campaign with a perfect 3-0.

Veteran wide receiver Tyler Lockett was among Seattle’s top performers. Lockett recorded four receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown. His score late in the fourth quarter gave the Seahawks hope of trying to win from behind. San Francisco’s next play from scrimmage was a 76-yard run.

Lockett discussed the loss with reporters Thursday evening.

“I haven’t seen anyone give up here,” Lockett said. “When I first got into the league, you would hear stories about how as you get close to the playoffs, you see teams tapping out and players being counted out. We’re not going to check each other out. We’re going to fight to the end. Even though we lost the game, we still tried to score at the end. We can’t just throw in the towel. Our players, our coaches, they’re not going to do that. You will see who you really are, despite adversity. We are going to persevere instead of running away from it.”

It’s encouraging to hear that Seattle’s locker room is staying together after a three-game losing streak. The Seahawks have an incredibly tough stretch of upcoming games, so togetherness is necessary. Following the loss on Thursday Night Football, the Seahawks will travel to Atlanta after this mini-bye to take on the Kirk Cousins-led Falcons before returning to Lumen Field to host the Super Bowl against the Buffalo Bills.

Lockett will have to continue to rally his teammates despite adversity.
