RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Update: Reno police say they have located and arrested the subject. He is charged with child endangerment, resisting and obstruction.

Original (5:15am) – A shelter in place has now been lifted for people in Northwest Reno.

Around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, people near Escalaera Way were told to take shelter and call 911 if they heard loud noises. Reno police say they received a call around 2:30 a.m. about an unknown problem at an apartment. When they attempted to make contact, one person fled to the rear on foot.

Police searched the area for the suspect, but could not find him. A criminal investigation is underway, but the police do not want to say what the suspect is wanted for.

RPD says they believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
