Season 1 finale of ‘Agatha All along’: how did it end?

Warning: This article contains spoilers.

Down, down, down the road. On the witch’s road.

Disney+ and Marvel Studios’ latest show, “Agatha All Along,” left viewers wanting more after the season 1 finale.

Viewers now know that The Witches’ Road was never really a quest to begin with.

Instead, Billy (Joe Locke) unknowingly created the quest for The Witches’ Road, taking inspiration from his room in EastView; the portrait of the house, a statuette of The Wicked Witch of the West, a poster of Lorna Wu, etc.

However, “Ballad of the Witches’ Road” was originally a song that Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) and her six-year-old son, Nicholas Scratch, created together as a pastime in the late 1950s.

The audience watched as the pair changed the lyrics and shaped the ballad to fit their childish fantasies.

Like a con man, Nicholas sang the ballad while trying to lure witches in the town to his house where Agatha would kill him.

It was only after Rio Vidal (Aubrey Plaza) led young Nicholas to death that Agatha decided to use the rumors of The Witches’ Road as a new way to kill witches and gain their powers.

“The Witches Road,” a young witch said to Agatha as she mourned the loss of Nicholas Scratch. “I heard talk about it. The way offers a prize worth the danger for witches who are brave and faithful.”

The audience is then taken to a montage of Agatha killing witches with the promise of going on the Witches’ Way until we reach the current time of the newest coven.

Fans of the show theorize that Agatha killed the witches as payment to Rio so she would have more time with Nicholas. At the start of episode 9, Rio waits for Agatha to give birth so she can take her son with her, so the theory might not be far off.

Instead of Lilia Calderu (Patti Lupone), Jennifer Kale (Sasheer Zamata), Mrs. Hart (Debra Jo Rupp) and Alice Wu-Gulliver (Ali Ahn), Agatha was shocked to see a door appear after singing the song. realizing at the time that it was Billy who conjured it.

Rio revealed one of Agatha’s grand plans while on The Witches’ Road; to distract Rio so she wouldn’t realize who Teen really is, now known as Billy Maximoff.

“He’s an abomination,” Rio told Agatha during their heated conversation, ready to collect Billy’s soul. “He disturbs the sacred balance. And I know how you feel about him.”

Showrunner Jac Schaeffer said viewers can expect a deep dive into Agatha’s mind and more information about Rio’s true identity.

“There will be something more insightful about our version of Death, but what I’m saying is that in this show we generally leave some of it up to interpretation,” Schaeffer told Inverse. “But you get a little more insight into how she operates in the last two episodes.”

Agatha, who always took care of herself, made a deal with Rio. She agreed to allow Billy to surrender to Lady Death in exchange for not being chased by Rio for an extremely long time.

During the epic battle scene between the two powerful witches, Agatha almost escaped – until Billy asked the witch if that was how Nicholas died.

Instead of going through with the deal, Agatha sacrificed herself again for Billy and protected him from Lady Death.

Agatha kissed Rio, with viewers speculating that the kiss was the kiss of death, ending the rumored horror that was Agatha Harkness.

In episode 9, Agatha returns as a ghost as Billy realizes he created a physical manifestation of The Witches’ Road, killing Lilia, Sharon and Alice.

After a failed banishment spell, Billy and ghost Agatha, now a coven of two, embark on a new adventure to find Tommy after Billy guides his brother’s ghost into an empty vessel during the final trial.

While a season 2 has not yet been confirmed for this spin-off series, a new WandaVision spin-off is in the works, focusing on Marvel android, Vision.

“With this show we wanted to tell a complete story, and I hope we succeeded. But as a fan and as an admirer, I believe there is so much more story to tell about all these characters,” Schaeffer explained to Decider about a possible season 2 for “Agatha All Along.”

Paul Bettany, who will reprise his role as Vision, told The Hollywood Reporter that filming will begin next year and that “we’re working on something that I’m really excited about.”

The untitled Vision series also sees James Spader return as Ultron – a sentient being created by Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, to act as a defense program. “Star Trek: Picard’s” Terry Matalas serves as showrunner.
