In the penultimate week of the 2024 regular season, the SEC Championship race has become a lot clearer. After the afternoon slate was complete, ABC put together title game scenarios for fans at home.

Alabama, Georgia and the two schools in Texas can still reach Atlanta. One team not mentioned by ABC is Tennessee. Despite suffering two defeats as other teams, the tiebreakers apparently cannot go in the Volunteers’ favor. While they can still compete for a spot in the College Football Playoffwill extend the SEC championship drought for another year.

At the time of publication, the SEC’s primetime games have begun. Two of the teams still alive to make it to the conference championship are in action, adding to the drama. You can view all scenarios below.

Wins and Missouri wins once

One of these was already accomplished when Missouri fell The state of Mississippi on the Saturday afternoon list. Alabama now controls its own destiny for another trip to Atlanta.

First up will be a matchup against Oklahomawith a view of the Sooners down the road. Chestnut brown awaits another edition of the Iron Bowl in Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Texas A&M wins and Alabama loses once

According to the ABC broadcast, Georgia needs Texas A&M to win its final two games, plus Alabama lose at least one more. This would set the stage for a Georgia-Texas A&M matchup in the SEC Championship.

Georgia is already done with conference play. Now, many eyes in Athens will be on the SEC’s primetime showdowns they hope to conquer a place on Saturday evening.

Win next week at Texas A&M

Steve Sarkisian‘s team has already improved to 10-1, defeated Kentucky. Next up is the renewal of the cross-state rivalry against Texas A&M, with the stakes high.

If Texas can win in College Station, they will have a shot at the SEC in their first year. You’d have to assume a spot in the College Football Playoff would be assured as well.

Win out

Another team that controls its own destiny, Texas A&M, is two wins away from beating Atlanta. But considering the opponents, this may be the toughest route on paper.

The Aggies are on the Plains and have to compete against Auburn. Then the showdown against Texas, where Kyle Field’s intensity will reach an all-time high.
