EAST LANSING, MI –– After one game, the Spartans are on a winning streak.

The Jonathan Smith era began on Friday, August 30 in East Lansing with a 16-10 victory over Florida Atlantic University.

All 16 of the Spartans’ points came in the first half –– two rushing touchdowns, from running back Kay’ron Lynch-Adams and quarterback Aidan Chiles, and one safety.

A stalled offense opened the door for FAU to get back into the game –– The Owls trailed by just six points in the fourth quarter on multiple offensive drives, but were unable to capitalize.
