Selena Gomez made a blazer dress look timeless in NYC

Last night in New York City, Selena Gomez showed how a good blazer dress can work as an evening look. The Emilia Perez actress paired the mini dress with a white Francesca Miranda ruffled shirt dress and black Christian Louboutin heels. She wore her hair in waves.

Gomez was with her Emilia Perez co-stars Karla Sofía Gascón and Zoe Saldaña during a SAG-AFTRA foundation talk for the film. On stage, Gomez brought out a surprising accessory: red glasses.

The singer’s appearance comes after her recent comments about her mental health made headlines. During the keynote of Wondermind’s Mental Fitness Summit on October 10, Gomez shared that she no longer sleeps in her bedroom.

“I’m a very anxious person,” she opened up about how she deals with feeling overwhelmed. “It’s a bit like judgment day, and I think having a positive conversation with yourself, even though it sounds strange, really has an impact. Like before I get out of the car, and there will be a lot of noises and stuff – if that’s the case, I’m not saying that’s every day – but I have to breathe and I have to say, ‘All of this is a gift, and I may not be in the mood for this, (but) every time I see someone and end up making them laugh, (it) always makes my day no matter how I feel.”

“I actually released a documentary (My mind and I),” she continued, pointing to the film project that chronicled her struggles with psychosis and bipolar depression. “I’m a little different from my mother because I spent too much time in my bedroom, so I don’t even sleep in my bedroom anymore because I associate it with such a very dark time.”

She admitted that “being anxious is so debilitating sometimes, and yes, I didn’t want to leave my bed for years, and part of that was not doing the work.” And you have to believe in yourself to do the work that will really lighten your load.”
