Juventus got the green and scored twice from inside the post after an own goal from Maduka Okoye and Nicolò Savona, before Udinese’s best chance was denied by the crossbar.

The Bianconeri were missing Gleison Bremer, Nico Gonzalez, Douglas Luiz and Arek Milik, but brought back Teun Koopmeiners and Kenan Yildiz after goal-packed draws against Inter and Parma. The Friulani were only two points behind in the table but took a 2-0 lead and lost 3-2 in Venezia in midweek when only ten men were left. Isaak Touré was therefore suspended, with Alexis Sanchez, Thomas Kristensen, Gerard Deulofeu and Arthur Atta injured, but Florian Thauvin returned for his first start since September 28.

Watch how it unfolded on the Live Blog.

Khephren Thuram found himself in promising positions twice in the first five minutes, but first reached the finish and then flew over Nicolò Savona’s cross from twelve meters.

Juve took the lead in chaotic fashion when Thuram gathered around Kenan Yildiz, nutmegged a defender and saw his angled shot bounce off the inside of the far post and bounce off the back of Maduka Okoye. It therefore counts as an own goal for the Udinese goalkeeper.

The hosts almost equalized moments later, Keinan Davis forcing a desperate save from Michele Di Gregorio at the first stick after a step-over, before Martin Payero merely threw his head at Thauvin’s cross.

Instead, Juventus doubled their lead by hitting the exact same spot on the post. This time Kenan Yildiz saw his solo effort deflect off the woodwork, with Savona on hand to grab the rebound from 14 yards.

Udinese thought they had got straight back into it after the restart when Federico Gatti crashed into Di Gregorio and Keinan Davis was able to tap the loose ball into the empty net, but the referee saw a Davis bump on the defender’s back causing the collision arose. .

Koopmeiners just failed to get his head against Dusan Vlahovic’s intriguing cross, after which the Serbian international poked the keeper’s gloves at the near post.

Udinese scored a series of corners during a period of pressure, including Di Gregorio’s save from Davis’ header and Lorenzo Lucca hitting the crossbar after Hassane Kamara’s cross.

Koopmeiners could have made it 3-0 in the last minute of normal playing time when he was sent away by Samuel Mbangula, but he got the ball under his feet, allowing Okoye to parry with his legs straight.
