Several people faint as thousands line up outside Shell Energy Stadium ahead of Kamala Harris’ rally in Houston

Thousands are lining up outside Shell Energy Stadium hoping to attend Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign rally in Houston next Friday. (Justin Stapleton, Copyright 2024 by KPRC Click2Houston – All rights reserved.)

HOUSTON – According to the registration website, more than 1.5 million people have registered in hopes of attending Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign rally in Houston this Friday.

Two hours before the event, thousands of people lined up outside Shell Energy Stadium and around the parking lot.

The Texas heat was beginning to weigh on potential visitors. EMTs responded to the area and according to latest reports, eight people were transported to nearby hospitals. Dozens of others have independently reported heat-related problems.

Refrigerated vans were on site to assist the injured persons.

KPRC 2 captured video outside the stadium where Houston police were handing out cold water bottles.

KPRC 2 reached out to Houston police regarding crowd control and traffic.
