Topline

Shaboozey recorded his 14th week atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his country hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” putting him just weeks away from breaking records for the longest-running No. 1 hit of this decade and all time.

Key facts

This week, Shaboozey spent the second-longest time at No. 1 with his first entry on the Hot 100 chart — a record that Lil Nas from 2015. and Los Del Rio, whose classic ‘Macarena’ each topped the Hot 100 for fourteen weeks.

Shaboozey also has one of the longest-running No. 1 hits of the decade on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart: “A Bar Song” is in its 18th week at No. 1 this week, following Morgan Wallen’s hits “Last Night” and “You Proof”, which lasted 25 and 19 weeks respectively.

Shaboozey appears poised to continue his reign: This week, “A Bar Song” continues to top Billboard’s streaming and radio charts.

Shaboozey easily has the longest-running No. 1 hit this year, ahead of Morgan Wallen and Post Malone’s hit “I Had Some Help,” which topped the chart for six weeks between May and July. He also broke Carrie Underwood’s record for Most Weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s country radio airplay chart with a debut single, surpassing her in his seventh week atop the chart in September. When “A Bar Song” topped the Hot 100 for the first time in July, Shaboozey became the first black man to simultaneously top Billboard’s Hot Country Songs and Hot 100 charts, just a week after Beyoncé became the first black artist which topped both charts simultaneously with ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’. He also became the first artist to chart in the top 10 of four Billboard radio charts: Country Airplay, Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay and Rhythmic Airplay, with “A Bar Song” hitting No. 1 on all but rhythmic.
