Shawn Mendes has long been the subject of gay speculation, not because he’s rumored to be dating men, but because it makes him, well, a little fruity. It’s hard to hear someone say, “I care Cher” and not get a response that is essentially, “Sister!” We are not proud of it! Mendes expressed concern about the topic of his sexuality during an Oct. 28 show in Colorado at Red Rocks Amphitheater. First he told the audience that becoming famous at the age of 15 meant not monitoring himself the way 15-year-olds usually do. “The real truth about my life and sexuality is that, man, I’m figuring it out just like everyone else,” he said, adding, “Sometimes I don’t really know, and other times I do. It feels very frightening because we live in a society that has a lot to say about this.” Well, Mr. Mendes, please know that your capacity for desire will be well-suited to the LGBTQ+ community, should you become a card-carrying member.
